Dance Healing Seattle

Connect with your body. Heal through dance.

Dance Healing is a somatic, body-centered practice that uses intuitive movement to process emotions, regulate the nervous system, and cultivate deep self-awareness.

This modality is perfect for those who want to go beyond words and explore healing through the language of the body.

What is Dance Healing?

Dance healing- also known as movement therapy or expressive movement- is a holistic approach that invites you to listen to your body and move in a way that feels authentic and healing. In Dance Healing Seattle sessions, there is no choreography, no pressure to perform, and no right or wrong way to move. Instead, you’re guided to explore your inner world through rhythm, breath, and movement.

Whether you're processing anxiety, working through grief, or simply craving reconnection with yourself, dance healing can open a pathway toward healing, integration, and empowerment.

How Dance Healing Works:

Dance Healing Seattle combines elements of mindfulness, somatic therapy, and expressive arts. Each session may include:

  • Grounding & Breathwork – To settle the nervous system and connect with your body.

  • Intentional Movement – Guided or freeform movement that allows emotions to move through you.

  • Rhythmic Exploration – Using music and rhythm to support emotional release and creative flow.

  • Body Awareness Practices – Gentle inquiry to notice where emotions and energy are held.

  • Integration – Reflective time to process, often through art expression and dialogue with your practitioner.

This work is trauma-informed, consent-based, and designed to meet you exactly where you are.

What Happens in a Dance Healing Session?

At Dance Healing Seattle, sessions are offered as individual experiences or in small, supportive group workshops. Each session invites you into a gentle, intuitive journey back to your body.

We might begin with a brief check-in, setting an intention that feels right for where you are today. From there, a soft warm-up helps you awaken your body and tune into your breath. Then, we’ll move into guided or free-form dance, letting the music and rhythm carry you. There's no choreography to follow, just your body’s own wisdom leading the way.

As the session winds down, there’s space to reflect, through journaling, sharing with others, or simply sitting in stillness. Verbal processing is always available, but never required. Every step is guided by curiosity, care, and the belief that healing can happen through movement.

All movement is invitational- you are always in charge of how and when you participate.
